SQUEEEEELLLL!!!

Ok, so I'm about to share with you all just how much of a dork I am. Yesterday I posted about my A Girl and a Glue Gun inspired apron. Well, after I posted, I left a comment on her tutorial saying how much I loved her blog (I do... I kinda stalk her!) and that I was linking back to her on mine. And guess what?! Kim responded to my comment! YYYEEEAAA!!! Arms flailing Kermit the frog style. See? I told you I'm a dork. Kim responding to my comment totally made my day and gave me a big ego boost that someone as busy and as cool as she would take the time to check out my little blog.

Anyhoo, today was another rainy, wet, gray, yucky day. Surprisingly, the kiddos were super good. No crankiness or complaints about being bored. They even played nice together! This morning my Punkin decided her Bitty Baby Sophia needed a party dress. So I let her pick out some fabric and I got to work. Now, keep in mind that this was a quick throw together, unplanned dress with 4 kids climbing the walls in the room with me, so its not lined or embellished or even measured really well, but I think it turned out cute.

It's had to tell by the way Punkin is holding her, but it's just a simple sleeveless bodice with a Velcro back, and a full gathered skirt. I'm not completely thrilled with it yet, so I might have to sneak it off her while she's sleeping and finish it up a little. Maybe a bow, or a ribbon around the waist. Hhhhmmm. Like I don't have anything better to do after the kids go to bed. Like maybe get some sleep myself?

A Girl and a Glue Gun Inspired Apron!

Well, it's Spring Break here in sunny Florida and its....raining. Boo! I ran out of plain hair clippies to beautify the other day, so today during the kiddos naptime I decided to go through the Goodwill bag and see if there was anything in there I could have some fun with. Score! I found a perfectly good pair of turquoise corduroy pants my littlest grew out of. A Girl and a Glue Gun makes these really cute aprons out of the pants legs of old jeans. I decided to give it a try. It was a super easy and super fast project! (I like those!) Of course I was making it for an almost 2 year old, who is also kinda teeny, so it would probably take longer to make an adult size one. But not by much. I really like it, and now my other kids want one too! I'm gonna have to start saving more outgrown jeans!

Get Crazy With The Hot Glue!

I gave my sewing machine a little rest yesterday and put my glue gun to work. I was tired of the dingy little basket I keep my girls' hair thingies in on the bathroom counter. It was one of their Easter baskets from last year, kind of a pastel purple, and not looking it's best after a year of toothpaste splatters and water all over it. (I don't have the neatest kids!)Anyway, I've seen these on other blogs and really liked the idea.

Hair Clippy Holder

I really wish I had some spray paint on hand before taking this picture. The rest of the frames in the kiddos bathroom are black. So that will have to be a project for another day!

Since I already had the glue gun all warmed up, I made a few new hair clippies too.

It was fun! I might have to make some more today...

Journal/Pen Holder Revamp!

I've improved (hopefully!) on my Journal/Pen Holder! I've added handles and a nifty little elastic to help keep the journal in place. I've also got some cute new boy fabric, because doodles and journal entries aren't just for girls you know!

Kids Say The Darnedest Things...

A funny story and some new items to add to my shop!

One of my 3, well almost 4 year old twin boys has developed a new obsession with putting toys in his pants. Not in his pockets, in his pants. He comes out of his room the other evening with a noticeable bulge in his PJ pants. My Hubby asks, "Whatcha got in your pants?" To which my son honestly and with a completely straight face replies, "The Big Bad Wolf!"

After watching my Hubby and me laughing hysterically, tears streaming down our faces, he reaches into his pants and says, "What? It really is the Big Bad Wolf!" and pulls out the finger puppet that goes with his 3 Little Pigs storybook!

I still get a huge smile on my face when I think of this conversation and I hope it helped make your day too! I also have a new item added to my shop, and a new design for my Matchbox Car Holder. Check em out!

Binkie Bag!

Is your baby a Binkie Baby? Well, mine is. Actually, all of my kids have been hooked on pacifiers. They have all needed at LEAST three binkies in their cribs with them at sleepy time. It has always worked out great for me, when the kiddos would wake up in the middle of the night all they had to do is reach out, grab a new binkie and pop it in their mouth. But then somehow between when they woke up in the morning and time to go in for a nap, all the binkies would dissapear. Well, it took me until my fourth child, but I have finally come up with a solution.

The Binkie Bag
Now I just gather up all the binkies and stick them in this cute little bag for next time! And my littlest kiddo loves having a special place to stash her binkies all by herself.

One For The Boys!

Finally! A boy project! My two boys have been very patiently waiting for me to quit making cute girly things and come up with something just for them. I've seen a bunch of these little Matchbox car rolls online and thought that would be perfect for them.

Cute, huh? I yet again forgot decided against adding handles. I'm thinking they liked them though, they slept with them last night!

A New Journal and Pen Organizer

Sorry it's been so long since my last post, but well, I'm still trying to figure out how to keep the posts coming and still keep up with my crazy household! I have actually gotten a few projects completed but two of them are housewarming gifts for my sister-in-law that I haven't mailed yet. So just in case she decides to check out my blog, I'll have to wait to post those pictures. I can show you this picture though.

It's a new Journal and Pen Organizer. It's a little smaller than the last one I made, and this one is quilted too, for a little more stabilization. It also has a flap over the pens and journal when it's closed to keep everything from falling out. I was originally going to add handles too, but forgot decided against it.

It's available in my Etsy Shop, Miss Nicole Creates!
